Serious Seeds, are a Cannabis Seeds Company based in Amsterdam, Holland. With a limited range of only three Feminised and five Regular Cannabis Strains,it would be easy to think, that Serious Seeds were just another little Cannabis Seed Company. This,however,could not be further from the truth, as you will understand as you read on further.

The Cannabis Breeder and major driving force behind Serious Seeds, is a man called Simon. He is the one who is responsible for the Cannabis genetics, and ultimately the Cannabis Seed Collection on sale from Serious Seeds.It was in 1986, that Simon first started to collect Cannabis Seeds, after travelling through Africa enjoying the benefits of smoking pure Marijuana, rather than the conventional method of mixing it with tobacco. Once back in Holland, Simon began cultivating what he believed to be the best of his Cannabis Seeds to provide himself with his own personal Cannabis supply. Contact with other Cannabis Growers gave him access to other Cannabis Strains, and he selected the best of these to add to his collection.

Simon finished his studies at the University of Amsterdam,where he studied Biology, and began to teach at one of the local High Schools in the area. It was from here that he was recruited by Alan Dronkers of Sensi Seed Bank, and from then on Simon’s career took a totally different path to the academic one that he had set out on.Simon worked for Sensi Seed Bank till 1994, when, along with some American refugees, he formed his own Cannabis Seed Company. That year both the AK 47 and Chronic, both won prizes at the Cannabis Cup. After the Cup, the initial Company was dissolved, and in it’s place Serious Seeds were formed. From it’s formation in 1995, Serious Seeds have worked under the company directive, that Cannabis grown from their Cannabis Seeds should always be readily available in some of Amsterdam’s best Coffeeshops. This would help Serious Seeds to gauge public opinion about that Cannabis Strain.

 One of the first Coffeeshops to stock Serious Seeds Cannabis was the Greenhouse Coffeeshop, and still does to this day. In 1995 the Greenhouse Coffeeshop won a Cannabis Cup with Kali Mist, grown by Serious Seeds. The following year in 1996, the Dampring, another very famous Amsterdam Coffee Shop,won the overall Cannabis Cup, this time with the latest Cannabis Strain from Serious Seeds called White Russian.
